It is that time of year again, when TIFF returns to Toronto and everyone is buzzing about the hot new films and of course, the fashion. The Toronto International Film Festival began in 1976 and has since flourished into an accredited film institution that has broadened Canadian culture. Many celebrities grace the red carpet promoting their roles in films or to simply attend a premiere themselves. As always, the celebrities making appearances dress to the nines, and we couldn’t help but fall head over heels for this seasons red carpet style.
We had the pleasure of hosting eTalk in our store recently, to showcase a few of our special occasion looks inspired by film festival season.

Our first look was inspired by the ensemble Gwyneth Paltrow’s wore to this year’s Oscars. We recreated her look with our Evelyn gown. This dress is a beautiful shade of light mauve and is constructed out of a soft chiffon fabric with delicate beading detail. It is an A-line silhouette and lightly grazes the floor, perfect for a formal occasion. The dress drapes over one shoulder keeping the dress both classic and elegant, which is also why we kept the accessories simple and let the dress take the spotlight in this look.

Cocktail Party: This season we have seen lots of grey on the red carpet and we especially adore the dress Julianne Moore wore to the Golden Globe Awards. To stay on trend we have selected a grey floor length gown that radiates sophistication. Glittering beading detail cascades down the dress and the neckline is sheer but still modest. This second look is fitting to wear to a gala or cocktail party.

Brunch: Festival season brings with it many outings to be seen, so our third look was styled perfectly for attending a brunch. The best part of this dress is that the fit and flare silhouette is complimenting to any body type. Designed with a modest V-neck and a length just above the knee this dress is appropriate for daytime events with friends and family. However, the laser-cut finish on the fabric is what sets this dress apart, and we love how feminine it is.

After Party: Lastly, we could not leave out the after party attire. For this fourth look we chose a form fitting, knee length dress to show off your figure while rubbing shoulders with the A-listers. While most might opt for a little black dress, we chose a fun peacock blue because an after party is the perfect time to break fashion rules. Some of the other flirty features we love are the ruching along the mid-section and keyhole neckline.
