In the spirit of Montreal’s 375th anniversary this year, we’ve been sharing some of the cool 375MTL events happening around the city each month. Here are 5 events to look out for in April, to get you in the festive mood.
1. La cabane à sucre urbaine Throughout April
Sugar shacking season is one of Montreal’s sweetest traditions. In honor of Montreal’s 375th birthday, an old-fashioned mobile barn will be travelling to different neighbourhoods in Montréal to share the delicious treat with all. You’ll also experience folk music dancing and storytelling, while enjoying your maple taffy and hot cocoa. Look out for the next events at Parc Villeray (April 2nd), Park Maisonneuve (April 8th), Parc Émilie Gamelin (April 9th), and Parc Lasalle (April 16th).
2. Arts Nomade Program April 4th
The Arts Nomade Program, organized every year by Cirque du Soleil, gives children the opportunity to express themselves and discover cultural venues through art workshops in Saint-Michel. Inspired by Montreal’s 375th, Cirque du Soleil will offer an artistic performance at each participating school, in collaboration with TOHU. See more details here.
3. MTL: Documentary Series April 13th to June 29th
If you are a history buff, then Jean-Philippe Wauthier’s 12-part documentary series MTL, presented by Télé-Québec, is a must-see.
