CELEBRATE NATIONAL DONUT DAY WITH MONTREAL’S TOP 4 DONUT SPOTS

What could be better than a day celebrating donuts? We’re not so sure there is anything better… Glazed, sprinkled, cream-filled – we have yet to find a donut that we didn’t like. In celebration of today being National Donut Day, we’re sharing our top 4 donut shops in Montreal.

1. LÉCHÉ DESSERTS

Located in the heart of Montreal’s St-Henri neighborhood, Léché desserts is the perfect donut spot for an afternoon pick-me-up. From milk chocolate mousse to berry cheesecake, the hardest part is deciding which donut flavour to choose. Our advice? Picking up one of their iconic pink boxes of 4 or 6 and saving the rest for your friends (or for yourself for later. We’re not judging).

2. TROU DE BEIGNE

Hand-rolled, fried, and glazed each morning, if donuts were art, Trou de beigne would be the heart of it. With donuts inspired by some of our favourite sweet treats, can one really go wrong with a s’mores or cookie dough-flavoured donut? We think not.

3. DOUGHNATS

The donuts at DoughNats are baked rather than fried, yummy, and smaller for guilt-free eating. Or, as we see it, so that more than one flavour can be sampled. From Cookie Monster to Breakfast in Bed, we can assure you that their donuts are as fun as their names sound.

4. NOUVEAU SAMOS

If you’re looking for a deliciously oversized, no-frills kind of donut then Nouveau Samos is a must-go spot. Their donuts come in classic flavours of chocolate-glaze, sugar, and maple and, at $1.25 each, there’s no reason not to try one of each.

Have a favourite donut spot not on the list? Be sure to let us know what it is.
